Stagflation, twin deficits, commodities dependency and a political crisis are taking the country to the brink. 6 million people went on the streets protesting for the impeachment of the current president, Dilma Rousseff, amidst a corruption scandal investigation. What are the numbers, who are the players, what are the opportunities and the risks?

Thais Batista has over 15 years’ experience within the financial services industry. Prior to joining Arbuthnot Latham as a Strategist in 2014, Thais was a Portfolio Manager at La Fayette Investment Management UK, responsible for Emerging Markets and Europe. Previously, she held similar roles at Claritas Investments and Unibanco in Brazil. She holds a Masters in Finance from London Business School with concentration in Quantitative Finance and Investments.
